TGIF

Okay, so we look a little strange.  This is what happens when you take a photo with the MacBook!  At least we are all smiling!  Coffee with Luisa mid day on Friday near her office!  Nice break from the routine.

We had a nice evening with Michael and Mary Hajny and ate dinner at PurPur a relatively new place in the older part of town.  Below, Marty's dinner of rolled chicken with spinach and mushrooms.  The signature item on the place is the stuffed baked onion which was quite tasty.

We walked to the big market this am looking for something with "bling" for Marty to wear to Bling Bling this evening: the 15th anniversary of IWA in Georgia.  The market doesn't change really, but there were a few more architectual details (doors and things) that we captured as we walked along.  To get from our place to the market, we'd normally walk along Agmashenabeli Avenue, but since it is torn up with reconstruction, we decided to walk parallel along Uznadze Stret.  That was hardly better, though; west of Marjanishvili the sidewalks of Uznadze were closed for reconstruction, forcing us to dodge traffic in the street.  On the way back home we "toughed it out" and walked up Agmashanibeli through the gravel and rubble.

This a panel (for lack of proper terminology) on one of the buildings on Uznadze toward the intersection of Marginashvili.  The building is in tough shape and we wonder, in the process of renovation down the road, will these wonderful decorative panels be kept or removed.

This doorway isn't that far from our place.  Marty particularly likes the curves and sweeping floral pattern that has been created.

Nice gate, also near us, however, the very interesting interior of the courtyard gets lost, but still worth putting up for you to see.
