Sunday in the airport

Marty waiting in the Tbilisi airport.

We both awakened early at 04:00, probably in anticipation of today's trip to Mestia.  We did manage to go back to sleep and get up at a reasonable hour.  Now, at the airport our flight has been delayed for two hours which we expect is due to weather in Mestia.  So we shall wait and see! We already are thinking that if the flight gets canceled that we shall try for Wednesday the 5th and return on Saturday.

Now our flight is delayed an additional two hours.  We are seriously wondering if we will get to Mestia.  Our friend Marika sent a text message that there was snow in Mestia.

Question answered, it is now 13:20 and after being at the airport since 09:30 it is announced that all flights to Mestia for today have been canceled. We'll start on Plan B, the second one for our current trip.

We took the city bus from the airport to fairly close to our flat for a whopping price of 50 tetri (30 cents) each!  The only drawback is that it does stop every 200 meters or so.  But you certainly cannot beat the price. Average taxi fare would have been 25 Lari or maybe more. On our way back to the flat we passed Populi (grocery store) and noticed outside the most amazing thing!  First one of these that we have seen in the city!  Photo below.
