Lake Louisa State Park

We arrived at Lake Louisa early afternoon and settled into a shared spot and made lunch. While we were eating lunch a ranger came by and told us that we couldn't have two campers hooked up on one site. We told her we could all sleep in the View at once but she said it was enough to just unhook the 2nd camper from their electric/water.  We told her that we had doubled up only because there weren't two sites available when we booked.  What was unsaid was that we were only here for one night so we probably wouldn't cause any raised eyebrows. Park policies.

Many Osprey in the trees and overhead in this park
We did manage to get in a short bike ride around one of the lakes in the park where Paul and David discovered an abandoned orange orchard and some wild tangerine and lemon trees. Of course, we picked some of these and brought them back to the campsite for testing. The lemons were the ugliest things you can imagine, however, the flavor was there!
In the wild!  But had been frosted.

Some ugly wild lemons.
The orange fairy strikes again.

We were deprived of a campfire as there is a drought here in central Florida and we could only use charcoal if it were in a container. So we opted for pizza! We are mastering the convection/microwave oven slowly but surely and have made such things as coffee cake, biscuits, blueberry cake and now pizza!

Neat little lizard!
The most interesting “wildlife” was not Marty goofing off in front of an orange tree but a small lizard that was on the railing of an observation deck over the lake. This little guy would scurry about and then puff up the area under his neck.
