Saturday

We were wakened on Saturday by a bus starting up and running for at least 15 minutes before the driver started blowing his horn to attract riders.  We skipped bathing, because there was no place to do it except right on the street.

Coffee!  Milk coffee fixed in a special way so that there is nearly as much sugar foam on on top as coffee below it.  It was so good that we all had two cups!  For those of you who are coffee drinkers, we will try to replicate this drink for you upon our return.

We have visited The Kanchanjungha Higher Secondary School in Taplejung which is at 1700m elevation.  We interviewed students and watched Enne as she gave her presentation on domestic violence.  After this we got the best dal bat of the trip and took many photos of local folks, mostly women and children.

Our last school was many hours away in Ilam where we again were driving in the fog or clouds.  We will spend tonight in this region which is also known for tea, being the same climate as Darjeeling!  Sunday we will shop for tea to bring home.
