Friday after in Santa Fe

Add caption
Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, missed the opportunity to visit and see the floating staircase.  Maybe next time around.  Pretty little structure though.
First Native American to be sainted.  Sculpture is located in front of St. Francis Assisi, Santa Fe
We just liked these doors and the tiles off to the side.
San Miguel Mission church is considered to be the oldest church in the US!  This structure dates from 1625.
This lovely church is St. Francis Assisi and the sculpture from above is in front of this on the left side.

Now, for Friday's other information.  We arrived late morning and got ourselves set up in the RV park about four miles from downtown.  There is a bus which runs right to the center of the downtown and for Seniors (folks like us) you can get a day pass for $1!  Pretty good deal.

We took the bus into the center of the city late in the afternoon and walked around capturing some of the photos above.  We had dinner in a wonderful Italian restaurant, Andiamo which more than made up for the awful Mexican of the previous night.

Oh yes, we finally got real showers!  Our last real shower had been in Ashburn, VA.  We had been doing solar hot water showers beside the camper as well as sponge type bathing and quick clean-ups with handi wipes. It had been 16 days since we stood under hot water...hot water....hot water that came at us full force and felt soooooo good.  I know, I know, it was probably a waste of water but it had been 16 days using precious little.

As for Santa Fe itself.  It is commercial, touristy, filled with a lot of things being sold that have not been produced locally.  Clothing from Nepal, clothing from Guatemala and more.  Needless to say, we were disappointed, except for the Italian restaurant.
