Saturday, 11,000'+ and NCAA

Friday we got an early start and hiked the trail into the Delicate Arch, one of the most popular hikes in the park.  It is only 1.5 miles one way about half of which is over slick rock,  The trail is a tease as you don't even get a glance at this arch until the very last moment after walking a portion of the trail carved from the side of a huge rocky cliff,  you go  around the end of the cliff and there is the arch.  Bang, hit you in the face majestic.

Saturday am we pulled out of the Granstaff BLM campground at 7:30 am and drove up Rt 128 along the Colorado River mostly in a deep canyon with cliffs looming over us..800' maybe but that is a guess.  Have passed a winery as well as a dude ranch while sill by the river.  Soon we leave behind us Utah and our national parks.  Tis a little sad to think that it is now back to just driving and making our way home.
From the back of Paul's truck as we head toward the campground for the last time.

Colorado and Interstate 70, beautiful scenery we're over 100 miles into the state and we are still seeing the Colorado River.  Snow in the mountains is a nice contrast to the greening grass.  Predicted high for Denver today is 80.  (a temp sign along the highway in Denver showed 81!)

Just went through the Eisenhower Pass at 11,158'.  That is the highest we have been on this trip.

We are stopped for the night in Ft. Morgan and are watching, you guessed it, NCAA basketball.  And yes, Paul and David are drinking a beer from Ft Collins, Colorado - 1554 Enlightened New Belgium Ale.  Yummy!
