Well, we thought we were about to begin our real adventure in Turkey with the flight to Adana. We enjoyed the new airport and watching people (a favorite sitting sport). Our flight left on time and we arrived in Adana and got to the car rental place and then things just fell apart on us. Seems that when we made our rental car arrangments the folks back in Maine forgot to tell our travel agent that there would be a drop-off fee for the car. It didn't show in our contract and so was a very, very big surprise when we discovered that there was one. Not only was there a drop-off fee but it was more than the actual rental fee! To make a long story short, we have canceled our rental car and are working on Plan B. As David aptly said, things go wrong in threes...this is the third thing so now it just has to get better! In a way, it is probably a good thing that we needed to cancel out on the car as I doubt if we could have ever found our Otel withouth GPS and a great map!
