After a few Skype calls to the US yesterday we learned that the reason the bank and debit cards had been blocked was because there is so much fraud in this part of the world.  AAA has blocked all their cards from use in any country bordering on Iraq.  David was unable to reach the AAA folks to talk directly to them about our cards because as soon as you entered your card number the automated operator would say that she had not heard the number and he would be disconnected.  We called the Augusta office and they told him about the blockage issues.  Then later they sent an email telling him that we would be able to use the card in Georgia.  So things are looking up.  And our bank has taken the block off our card so we can use it as well.  All these things were just unexpected and not what we needed to end our day yesterday.

Today we are off to Adana and the Mediterranean!
