Reflecting and photos

Finally, after arriving back home the time has come for looking closely at photos taken over the recent trip.  I wanted to share one and talk a little about it.

This is a three exposure HDR that started in color but has been converted into black and white...or desaturated if you want to use that term.

I desaturated the color because of the texture that then emerged in the grasses in the foreground.  Black and white also lets the viewer focus on the physical structure as opposed to being engaged with the colors.  There is nothing wrong with color, I like it, but there are times when it seems to detract rather than enhance the image.  This is one of those cases.

This photo is of Tlos, Turkey.
