Moving Again

After leaving the Everglades on Thursday we headed north and inland to Highlands Hammock State Park in Sebring.  This has been quite a change from the Lone Pine Key in the Everglades, and a nice one.  Even though we ere in much tighter quarters for camping the grounds here are amazing and we have enjoyed riding our bikes on paved roads under towering Palm and Live Oak trees.

This park was built by the CCC back in the 1930's along with several others in Florida including the next one we will stay in.  We visited the CCC museum and learned a lot about its history.  Then as we retuned to our campsites we took a longer ride that allowed us to see some of the very first buildings erected.

We are the happy campers...really.

Ah, Paul preps a wild orange that had the greatest aroma ever, but the taste was not what we expected...most bitter but very juicy.

Our favorite campground sign.
