Patience is usually in short supply when it comes to my general behavior, but when I have a camera in hand it is something I have. Taking shots of hummingbirds requires great patience as often you sit without moving a muscle for 20-30 minutes or more until the little bird comes close enough for you to get a shot. Then it is the maual focus which really does seem to work best, but is frustrating because these little birds don't stay still very long so it is really a hit or miss process. This photo was taken with an ISO of 1000 using a 300mm lens at about a 2400/sec I like it because there is a droplet of hummingbird food on her bill!
