Always expect the unexpected

Well, now we have a new kettle of fish with which to deal.  Wonderful AAA Travel Card which we have used in such places as Nepal and Kazakhstan is now being blocked in Turkey and Georgia.  Thank you very much.  When we put the vast majority of our travel funds onto this card we were never alerted or warned that the card (which is a VISA card) might be blocked in some countries.  Our Kennebec Savings Bank card is also blocked in both countries.  When we went to the bank and told them we would be traveling in Turkey and Georgia and would be using the card in these two countries and not one word, not one word was said to us!  We absolutely will not have enough money to do our trip with the cash we have...Thank you very much AAA and KSB for letting us know in advance (as we are certain that they knew the cards would be blocked) that we were wasting our time by putting money on the one and planning on using the other.  This just forces one to carry all their money in cash or stay and eat only at places that accept credit cards (and over here many smaller hotels and restaurants and shops do not.)

Upade!  AAA has written us that our travel card will be okay in Georgia!  Whew.
